M is for the moan, and the miserable groan
from the pain that She felt when I was born
O is for the oven with it's burnin' heat
where She stood makin' sure I had something to eat
T is for the time that She stayed up at night
and took my temperature when I wasn't feelin' right
H is for the hard earned money She spent
to keep clothes on my back and try to pay da' rent
E is every wrinkle I put on Her face
and every worry that I caused when I stayed out late
The last letter R is that She taught me Respect
and for the Room up in Heaven that I know She'll get

Imagine the damage that ONE fucking cable snare can do. We haven’t even gone into shotgun territory yet!!! Despite the rescue - the injuries are too severe for the poor tiger to survive. I’d like to see THAT poacher get HIS fucking leg trapped in the snare instead.
This is the reality of the situation. We have only TEN Wildlife Protection Unit officers patrolling an area FIVE times the size of Singapore. These guys have to look for snares, track down poachers, keep our national icons - the Malayan Tigers, safe.
Ten WPU officers. That’s all WWF can afford at this point. I think it’s high time the Government steps in with a proper federal budget allocation to do the tigers right. After all, we wear the Tiger proud on our coat-of-arms for fck’s sake, and we’re constantly hearing the lamentations of our politicians on preserving heritage, culture, bla bla bla ad nauseum… well what about the God-given heritage, the “uniquely-Malaysian” asset we have (and NOT have to spend billions to build, like that ridiculous and unnecessary Eye On Malaysia?)…
It always baffles me how our leaders can spend millions and billions to CREATE ostentatious new ways to be proud of ourselves when the natural gifts we have already been bestowed with as a nation - our incredible biodiversity holding some of the most unique and amazing flora and fauna - are left open to destroy in the name of development.
Protecting our Malayan Tigers would also mean conserving big pockets of natural jungle/forests. The tigers need vast spaces in which to roam (as they have been born to do, and no amount of concrete floors and iron bars of Saleng Zoo will ever convince me otherwise), they need trees and greenery because it’s what they live in - and so do their prey, they need water from streams and ponds…. basically it’s a win-win situation. We protect huge areas that house not just the tigers, but other species of creatures and plants… and our beautiful tropical jungles.
So before I keep on ranting as I usually do - just do us a favour.
Log on to www.tx2.my and register yourselves. It’s free. Read up on the tiger. Learn something that the damn schools don’t even bother teaching their kids, facts that the boring-ass text books don’t even bother emphasizing, facts that we should be aware of because shit, the Malayan Tiger is OURS and we should at least have a collective voice to show support so maybe… just maybe…
… we can pressure the big boys upstairs to finally sit up and listen, give a damn, and channel some funds to where it matters for a change.
I cried after watching this video. It is so upsetting, I feel sick in my stomach.
I adore this song.
